Stop Spam in phpBB Boards Easily

When I first started getting bots registering on my experimental phpBB board, I was overjoyed! I thought I was making my presence felt on the net. Pretty soon though, I was tired of weeding out the bots and began to search for a solution. I did not want extensive modifications to the board and I did not want to mess up too much either. So my search came up with a wonderfully effective solution - Advanced Visual Anti Bot. What this mod (the phpBB community calls all modifications as mod) does is allows you to change the background images of visual captcha in the registration page. I spent some time creating 360x96 pixel images for the purpose. By creating custom background, you make it hard for the bots to crack it.
